Baan Nam Jai

Hey guys...
I am writing as a way of passing on needs that we have at Baan Nam Jai as of Dec 2011. We are in a time of need and waiting on the Lord right now and trust that all will come about in His timing but if we don't ask we can not receive right? So I'm asking that you guys pray with me and join with me in asking the Lord to bring the right people...staff....(preferably thai) to come be a part of our family and begin to serve and fill the needs that we have. I appreciate you taking the time to look at this and pray over the needs. I also challenge those who are wondering if God's calling them to come serve here and if you are wondering just stop yourself and get over here!! (wink) We don't want you if God's not calling you... so I just encourage you to be obedient to the call on your life. However if you have skills or tools for us to use and need to take a vacation....we also welcome you and would love to have you visit us and share with us. So here's the list of our needs as we see it....

We have the following staff needs: (in order of priority).....
(Thai language study is part every missionary's life in Thailand)
  • Most urgent need is for houseparents for our girls house. This is a long-term commitment, minimal is 5 years, preference is 10 years. The girls house has 8 girls. Ages range from 16 years  - newborn twin girls. Most of the girls are 8 - 10 years.
  • Nanny to live in, with houseparents onsite, as helper to them. Two helpers needed, one for girls and one for boys house.
  • Someone to manage and live-in at our crisis pregnancy centre on our property, for young pregnant women giving them an option to abortion. Thailand has the second highest rate of teenage pregnancies in the world. (Thai language is imperative.) Role includes teachng life skills, managing and facilitating small groups, conflict resolution, discipleship.
  • Office manager. Including website design but if your skill is management only, then we can seek another person just for website. (or we can train you!).  :)  Job description can be supplied.
  • Youthful YWAMer who loves Jesus, who plays guitar and sings and is willing to share this gift and pass on their love of music/guitar to our kids.
  • Staff to serve in our community, visiting families affected by HIV, helping develop income- generation projects. (Thai language is imperative.)
  • Someone trained in tesol who wishes to serve in our community, at our children's school and the local hospital teaching English. This teacher can also teach (part-time) one of our little special needs boys 1 - 2 hours each day, as well as tutor several others with homework, as they are able.
  • Kindergarten/preschool teacher. For our on-site kindergarten. Training and experience essential.
  • Someone trained in horticulture who wishes to work on our property caring for our fruit trees and vegetable gardens. Can include training others in this area.

I would also like to add that if any of you are skilled or know someone with a gift or skills in counseling, our children are in deep need of someone to come and help them work through some heavy stuff they are dealing with. As they get older there's more stuff coming out and we would like to give them tools on how to deal with difficulties in life in a healthy way.

Thanks so much for all of your prayers and to all of you who have sent little messages or who I have talked to and have encouraged me....thank you! I am blessed by you and can't express how great the power of prayer is.

Bless you all and take care as we all embrace 2012!
