NEW YEAR.....

Happy New Year to all!!!!!

I am hopeful that you all had a good celebration into the new year! Woo Hoo! It’s 2009! I still can’t believe it! I had a really nice New Years Eve......I went with Mike and Bec to our friend P’Quan’s house (she is the assistant Director of BNJ) and had an amazing dinner! We sat around and ate and talked and ate and talked! Susie brought the girls so I of course was lured outside a few times to go see the birds and ended up playing with them. Then Susie prayed over our time and over our year and this new one to come and we all headed to our next destinations. Mike and Bec and I went to the coffee shop (called Companion....aka my 2nd home after BNJ) We had noise makers, karaoke and some really good and spicy food!!! It was delicious....Nok made moo manao, which is a limey spicy pork dish and after I drank  the juice Oct had to take me outside and show me something that would turn my fire off. We then continued on with some good ol karaoke and singing our hearts out. It made me miss Luke, Pe, Jaci, Dave, and Jess and wish that they were here with is celebrating the new year. So here’s some pictures to tell them that we were thinking of them! I wish you all a rich 2009! I have a feeling this is going to be a challenging year ahead. But I am positive that it will be rich in God walking me through each challenging obsitical. As He always does! Thinking of you all and missing you very much!

a visit from Kwan......

I got to hang out with my thai translator from 4 years ago this week! It was so fun! I met Kwan when I came to thailand in 2004. She was the translator for my DTS team. She was in Chiang Rai for a week doing a school with YWAM (youth with a mission) for working with children. She had a day off on Monday and we got to hang out all day. It was a really good time! We ate good northern thai food, went to Le Petite, had the tour of BNJ, and had dinner in the market. I am so glad I was able to finally catch up with her. Here's some photos from our time!

NUCH.....

I was able to go to Chiang Mai back in January to go see Hillsong and Joyce Meyer. It was fun. My friend Nuch from Pattaya got to come and spend the weekend away. We had a good time. Here's a photo from that weekend! For all of those who remember her, she's doing very well and has a beautiful heart that is growing and maturing! It was so good to be able to spend the weekend with her!

Chinese New Year

P'Mew invited a bunch of us up to her village to celebrate the Lahu/Chinese New year. She is Karen (which is a type of tribe/village here) but she is married to a guy who is Lahu (also a tribe, a little different to Karen). So It was the New Year in February and Mew invited us up to eat and join in the festivities. It was neat to see how they ring in the new year. In the photos you will see a group shot of all of us farangs and a few thais. All of the farangs work at BNJ, the thai girls are P'Mew, my friend Ae and our accountant at BNJ, Kak. The First photo is me and others dancing....later on a pig head came out as a sacrificial offering...kinda freaked me out. I prayed a lot! The second photo is of me and Bethany and Stephanie. Bethany lived in my house with me for a while and then when Esther left she moved into the girls house to help Susie out. She is moved back to Australia a week ago! It was a sad goodbye. The next goodbye I will have to say to is to Stephanie. However it won't be as hard as she is from a town really close to where I am from! So I will get to see her again! The third photo is of me and Anna my new housemate. She is from Washington and is teaching at FLC (the international school here in Chiang Rai). She will be here until June when school is out.

Friends and stuff

These are photos from New Years and after. 1. Oct and Nok, my friends from the coffee shop that moved to BKK now. 2. This is Susie with Belle at P'Mew's house. We went to have dinner there and celebrate the Chinese New year. 3.Me with Nui.....I was tickling her and she was trying her hardest not to smile.  4. This is my sweet Mae....it's too easy to make her smile! . I hope you guys enjoy!
